Hellen Pendley
Administrator

Hellen Pendley is the Administrator at Atlanta Bariatrics. Hellen has 30 years of health care practice management experience throughout the United States. Mrs. Pendley spent the last ten years working as a Regional Director in Orthopaedic surgery. She served as the Director of Practice Management Services for Priority MPD, a national healthcare consulting firm.

Hellen is a student at Western Governors University pursuing a degree in Healthcare Informatics and Information Security and Assurance. She is a member of MGMA and AHIMA.

Hellen enjoys reading and traveling with her husband. She has three grown children and five grandchildren and enjoys spending time with her family.


Amanda Korey
Financial Manager

Amanda has lived in the Atlanta area for twenty years and graduated from the University of Georgia. She currently resides in Cumming, Ga. with her husband and two children.

Amanda joined our practice in 2003 and oversees the billing, insurance and bookkeeping aspects of the practice.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.


Tracy Smith
R.D., L.D.

Tracy received a BS in Nutrition from Pennsylvania State University and completed her dietetic internship there as well.  She has held a variety of positions within the field of nutrition and dietetics including: medical/surgery, weight management, diabetes teaching and coordinating dietetic interns.  She has worked with and counseled bariatric patients since 2001.  She has been a registered and licensed dietitian for 10 years.

Tracy is very active in her district and state dietetic associations, currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Dietetic Association as the Nominations Chair.  She was named “Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year 2010” by the Georgia Dietetic Association.    She and her husband have lived in GA since 2004.


LaTonya Taylor
Bariatric Patient Advocate

LaTonya is originally from Birmingham Alabama and now lives in the Sandy Springs area. LaTonya has worked for Atlanta Bariatrics since 2004. LaTonya has worked as a surgery scheduler before accepting her current position as the Bariatric Patient Advocate.

LaTonya’s main focus is assisting patients through their weight loss journey to ensure they meet the various requirements for bariatric surgery.

LaTonya has three sons. She enjoys watching college football and spending time with her family.


Linda Heath
Registered Nurse

Linda is originally from the Maryland area, she attended Baltimore Community College of Nursing and Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

Linda worked in Emergency Nursing positions in Baltimore, Columbia, S.C., and Atlanta. She also worked in the fields of Orthopedic surgery and Neurology at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Linda has worked for Atlanta Bariatrics and Johns Creek Surgery for the last ten years.

Linda is married and has one son and two granddaughters. She enjoys boating, card games, traveling and the beach.


Melissa Youngblood
Registered Medical Assistant

Melissa hails from Sylacauga, Alabama. She graduated from Bryman National Education College in Atlanta Georgia with her Certificate in Medical Assisting. She also attended Alexander City Junior College in Alabama.

Melissa is married to her high school sweetheart and has two sons. She enjoys gardening, baking and family gatherings.


Lisa Jennings
Front Office Assistant

Lisa is originally from Denver, Colorado. She resides in Kennesaw with her three sons. Lisa is currently a student at Kennesaw State University pursuing her degree in childhood development.

Lisa attends Destiny Church in Marietta and enjoys NFL football, interior design and traveling. She has a special interest in helping children with disabilities.

Lisa joined Atlanta Bariatrics in 2010, she enjoys working with our patients and seeing them live healthier lives.


Magda Axt
Front Office Assistant

Magda is originally from New York, although she has lived in Georgia for the last 26 years. Magda worked as an account manager in the retail market for twenty years before returning to the healthcare field.

Magda is certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders as a Certified Professional Coder apprentice (CPC-A) and Certified Professional Coder – hospital apprentice (CPC-H A).

Magda does volunteer work for the Emory Johns Creek hospital and for a local animal rescue group. She enjoys gardening and antiquing in her spare time.


Cyndi Ready
Surgery Scheduler

Cyndi joined the Atlanta Bariatrics team in 2007. She worked as a front office assistant, and then as a bariatric patient advocate before serving in her current capacity as surgery scheduler.

Cyndi hails from Michigan where she attended Michigan State University. Cyndi currently resides with her husband and two children in the Suwanee area.

Cyndi enjoys all sports and spending time with her family.
